Many people experience complete heartburn relief, day and night, when Aciphex is taken daily. It even provides relief for people with severe heartburn.

One dose every day works 24 hours to provide steady acid control by helping to keep the burn out of esophagus.

Working of Aciphex

Aciphex has proven to start working from the very first dose. Once you begin taking Aciphex regularly, your esophagus begins to slowly repair the damage done by the stomach acid. Some Information About Aciphex

• Aciphex is used for treating ulcers of the stomach and duodenum, erosive or ulcerative gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).
• It is also given to treat Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome, in which there is overproduction of acid caused by tumors.
• Aciphex is different from other heartburn remedies. It gets to the heart of the burn by blocking the final stage of acid production and reducing the amount of acid your stomach produces.
• It is also used with antibiotics for eradicating Helicobacter pylori infections of the stomach that, along with acid, are responsible for many ulcers.

Aciphex Dosage

Aciphex for GERD

For healing ulcerative or erosive GERD, the recommended dose for adults is 20 mg daily for 4-8 weeks. If healing does not occur after 8 weeks, your doctor may recommend another 8 week course of Aciphex. The recommended dose is 20 mg daily.

Aciphex for Heartburn and Ulcers

Heartburn due to GERD is treated with 20 mg daily for 4 weeks and an additional 4 weeks if symptoms do not resolve.

Ulcers are treated with 20 mg daily for 4 weeks.

Aciphex for Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome

For Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome, the starting dose for adults is 60 mg daily, and the dose is adjusted based on improvement in symptoms, healing of ulcers or the effectiveness of acid suppression. Also, in some cases doses of 100 mg per day and 60 mg twice are given daily.

The regimen for eradication of Helicobacter pylori is aciphex 20 mg, clarithromycin 500 mg, amoxicillin 1000 mg all given twice daily, morning and evening for 7 days.
