Why Does Acne Leave Blemishes
Skin
disorders can be severely demoralizing, and many
adolescents suffering from them may feel reluctant
to come out of their homes. However, everyone
has to go about his or her daily life in spite
of these things.
Certainly, in order to go around
in society one would like to look presentable
and have clear skin, but sometimes people have
to live with certain conditions.
Acne is known to leave behind terrible
marks on a person’s face. These are caused
due to infection below the surface of the skin.
Indeed, it is the glands in the skin that basically
get infected due to blockage of fluids in the
hair follicles of the skin.
Scarring is the ultimate dread for
one who has acne, and it is because of this that
one would like to take precautionary measures.
If one does not do so, s/he could experience acne
problems. However, it is also possible for one
to get acne blemishes even if one takes precautionary
measures.
Acne blemishes develop because of
the condition or infection in the skin developing.
It must be emphasized that one’s skin needs
to be cleansed thoroughly in order to prevent
acne. When one is nearing the age of puberty in
particular, it is advised that one bath in warm
water regularly.
This helps to reduce the blockage
in the skin. However, washing one’s face
with warm water may be difficult. So, in place
of using warm water one could use a steam wash.
This could be done by covering one’s head
with a towel over a container of steaming water.
This helps to clear the pores by
expanding them and allowing the fluids and dead
cells out. When one has acne however, they should
not do this. The steaming and warm water wash
is supposed to be carried out before one develops
the condition.
Acne blemishes develop because of
the infection in the sebaceous glands. The infection
develops because of blockage that one experiences
in the follicles. This blockage takes place because
of the excess fluid supplied from the sebaceous
glands. The dead cells on the surface of the pores
also play a major role in the blocking process.
Once the blocking takes place, pressure
inside the follicles build up and begin to show
as swellings. The color of the skin changes and
sometimes a fluid begins to flow out after forcing
its way through. This condition may continue in
some areas of the skin or may go on for long periods,
depending on the severity of the condition.
Basically, male sex hormones are
responsible for acne. This is because it is the
hormonal change that results in the secretion
of the excess sebum. The exact cause of this is
not understood completely, but there is a relation
to it.
Treatments for this condition have
been developed, and they are successful to a certain
extent. In some people the treatment is successful
while in others it may not be.
One has to focus on preventing aggravation
of acne, and there are few guidelines that physicians
provide. These are helpful. However, there is
no cure that would wipe away the condition in
a flash especially if one has a severe condition
of it. Join a support group to deal with your acne.
