ADHD - Causes, Symptoms, Diagnosis & Treatments

It is considered safe when one is diagnosed with a particular condition or disorder as opposed to not knowing what problems one suffers from. In addition to the most common medicine Ritalin, there are other methylphenidates. These include Focalin, Metadate ER, and Methylin ER, Concerta and Metadate CD. Each of these has its merits, but Ritalin is always the preferred type and is widely recommended. All these medications mentioned here have different durations of effectiveness.

Ritalin, as the most common of them, has three types of durations. According to the attention that is desired, Ritalin or one of the other drugs is prescribed.

Teaching in this manner is known to be successful because students can cope better with their tasks, in terms of the shortened durations. It must be noted that the tasks are not made easier. They are simply modified so that they can be completed in a shorter span of time.

Finally, it must also be noted that there are no known causes of ADHD. However, it is suggested that one should avoid smoking, taking drugs and having alcohol when they are pregnant.
