Relation Between Heart Diseases and Cholesterol
Health conditions in relation to the heart are important as heart is a vital organ of the body and our well being is directly dependent on it. This means that if there are any conditions in the body that can directly affect the heart, they should be reduced or totally removed. This would help to restore health to the individual. However, in many cases people are unaware of their health conditions, particularly because of the fact that they are unable to detect the problem.
Heart Diseases & Cholesterol
Eating habits over the years have been traced over the years and research has determined the number of people who have been largely unaware of the importance of their diets. In relation to this, research has also observed the increase in the number of heart attacks and it appears that there is a link between these numbers.
Upon testing individuals for cholesterol, it was been determined that their chances of having heart disease were high. The number of people who have died of heart disease were also checked for cholesterol and then it was determined that cholesterol and heart diseases certainly do have a strong relation.
Action of Cholesterol
On further researching the relation of cholesterol with heart disease, it was discovered that cholesterol deposited itself slowly and steadily on the insides of arteries and blocks them. This blockage is responsible for the restriction of blood flow.
The greater the restriction is, the less the blood would be allowed to flow. With the passage of time the restriction of blood flow increases, which eventually leads to the heart being deprived of its oxygen supply. This is because oxygen is supplied to the cardiac muscles of the heart which helps the muscles to respire and go on working.
Since the cardiac muscles are already small they have greater chances of being blocked by cholesterol deposits. This condition can be worsened by smoking, lack of exercise and even stress. Being overweight or having even one more of the risk factors means that a person is at great risk of having heart disease.
Avoiding Heart Diseases
Living an unhealthy lifestyle is certainly a way of inviting trouble in the form of heart diseases. A poor diet is the main cause of diseases and poor health. This happens when a person either does not know about high-cholesterol foods or simply ignores the fact that high-cholesterol substances are bad for consumption. Ignoring it or not knowing about the risks of high-cholesterol substances is indeed a big health risk.
- Heart diseases are a major risk factor in lives of those leading a stagnant life in the form of little or no physical activity and excessive smoking.
- Through cutting down or avoiding cigarette smoking, one may reduce the chances of him or her getting heart disease.
- Exercising more frequently and eating a proper diet is also advised if longevity is desired.
In addition to exercise and diet playing a major role in one’s healthy, just like one should also avoid cigarette smoking; it is also advised that one should be more aware of medication that may not be suitable for them.
Importance of Healthy Diet
What people eat everyday, as far as healthy foods are concerned; they believe it to be fine. They are not always aware of what they consume, as there are no immediate effects. The build up of cholesterol is an example of a substance that slowly and steadily places itself inside the arteries. This takes place because people are not aware of the excess presence of cholesterol in foods.
One should also be aware of the possibility of having other health problems at the same time. Having a thorough checkup once a year is a good way of getting to know one’s health weaknesses. In this way the most suitable medication can be recommended.
