According to an old belief, one gets hangover
by drinking excessively. However, the fact is
reported that you can get a hangover from drinking
3 glasses only. For some people even one or two
is enough. Hangovers occur when body is unable
to consume excess alcohol and the headaches, nausea
and palpitations are body’s reaction to
too much drinking.
It’s an old myth that hangovers are caused
by alcohol, but the fact remains that they are
mainly caused by acetaldehyde, a toxic created
as the alcohol progresses in the body. All the
effects of alcohol have now been attributed by
the researches to acetaldehyde. Some researches
have gone to an extent of saying that alcoholism
be renamed ‘acetaldehydism’
It is believed that less drinking will lead to
lesser hangovers, however, the fact is that the
more you drink the lesser the hangovers.

It is a well known myth that excess of alcohol
drinking leads to liver failure and people who
drink alcohol are likely to have liver complications.
However, the fact has been deduced that many victims
of liver disease are not alcoholics. It depends
on how much you drink and how long over a period.
Viruses, bacteria and other hereditary factors
are responsible for liver damage. The only problem
caused by alcohol drinking is inflammation of
the liver that lasts two weeks, is caused due
to the fatty acids in the body. The less the body
fat, the less is the chance of inflammation.

weight gain as intake of beer and wine leads to
increase appetite reducing the burning of fats
and calories. But, the recent research has proved
a fact that these factors may not trouble people
who drink regularly. It is emphasized that alcohol
calories may not count as long as one practices
a moderate behavior towards alcoholism.
It can be said, that in spite of so many myths
related to alcoholism and drinking, a large number of people all over
the world drink. However, a limit on drinking
should be observed and the side effects should
