Two Of The Key Concepts In Health Education
Pursing the program
of 'National Health School Standards (NHSS),
the British department of Education and Skills
(DfES) in collaboration wit the department of
health has devised programs for eliminating
health inequalities, the promotion of social
inclusion and raising the standards of education
in the country.
With a firm belief in the concept
that health schools turn out healthier populations,
and that helping the student community accomplish
this objective provides them the needed initiative
to their best in their adult lives.
Promotion Of Health Education Programs
These programs aim to provide continuous support
in the form of developing and helping students
in their ongoing activities. The said programs
also provides physical as well as emotional
assistance by addressing their information needs,
as well as equipping them with the ever needed
skills and attitudes to make better and healthier
decisions regarding their own health as well
as the health of their loved ones.
In giving importance to healthier
schools, it must be noted that a healthy school
serves to bring about the validity of investing
in areas of health education, as well as providing
the students the impetus to raise their levels
of achievement and improving their grades. The
importance of imparting health education also
serves to improve both the physical as well
as social environment, in turn providing a conducive
environment for learning.
The second approach is one
that addresses the need for evidence based learning,
and where healthier children are observed to perform better in both
their academics as well as in areas of promoting
health.
