What Is Your Risk Of A Heart Disease

With the amount of research in to particular subject areas today, one can now easily determine his or her chances of suffering with diseases. Diseases such as heart disease are ones that research has explored significantly, and this has resulted in one being able to estimate how much risk he is at. One may do this observing what types of symptoms s/he has, in addition to his or her lifestyle.

Regarding one’s life style, it must be asserted that there are few important things that apply. They are:

  1. Stress level
  2. Weight
  3. Diet
  4. Cigarette smoking
  5. Frequency of exercise

Stress

People who have excess stress are most likely to have a heart attack. This is because of the fact that stress is the cause of artery constriction. In such a condition blood cannot pass through freely. In smaller arteries the case is worse, and so the pressure of the flow may build up. This kind of condition means that one is at great risk of having a heart attack. Such a person needs to take good care. This should be done in the form of trying to relieve one’s self of stress, which could mean dealing with the job stress in a better way or choosing another job with less stress.

Weight

If one is over weight or obese, the risks of having a heart attack are high. This is because of the level of fat in the body; it is obvious that one’s cholesterol level is high and puts a person at risk.

Being overweight is a risky condition, and superceding this condition is obesity. Obesity is a condition in which one has way too much fat in his or her body. Such a person should be on a red alert against heart disease. It is recommended that overweight and obese people try to slim down, as this will reduce their cholesterol levels.

Diet

One’s diet is also important because it is perhaps the one of the main keys to remaining healthy. Those who avoid high-cholesterol foods are the safest. Though one needs a certain amount of fat in his or her diet, it must be emphasized that if one takes too many high-cholesterol foods it is very likely that heart disease would develop soon. For people who consume such foods it is advised that they cut down and maintain a healthier diet as soon as possible.

Cigarette Smoking

For those who smoke, it must be emphasized that smoking is related to a number of health risks including cancer. However, here it needs to be asserted that smoking increases the chances of heart problems significantly. It is known that many people have died simply because of smoking too much.

Exercise

People who do not exercise are also at considerable risk because of the fact that they do not much opportunity to burn off excess cholesterol. Particularly if they have been eating high-cholesterol foods they are candidates for heart disease. It must be asserted here that exercise is a must for burning off cholesterol that may have deposited itself on the insides of arteries.

If a person has more than one of the factors against him or her, chances of developing heart disease are high. It is recommended that people adhere to a healthier lifestyle that has sufficient physical activity and does away with eating high-cholesterol foods and smoking. These are the major points to focus on but the smaller points must not be overlooked either.
