Controlling
Lyme Disease
Lyme disease is a
very dangerous and mysterious disease, which is
basically caused by some infection resulting out
of the bite of some special kind of bacteria.
However, both humans and animals are affected
by the disease, which is identified by illness.
Where the most common bacteria include spirochete
bacteria and Borrelia burgdorferi.
Basically these bacteria infect the animals and
human beings by their bite over ticks. Though
all ticks are not infected but one needs to understand
the fact that the tick populations, which are
infected by the disease, vary from specie to specie
and also from one geographical location to another.
However, the symptoms of Lyme disease in man
is very severe, as it generally is observed to
be initiated by some rash or scratches, which
basically starts after few days of the bite of
the infected tick. However, with the passage of
time the rash changes to redness and increases
its size like a bull’s eye at the same time
developing alternate dark as well as light color
rings in the surrounding of the reddish rash.
Generally the specific symptoms of the Lyme disease
are confused with an insect bite or ringworm.
Moreover, with the development of the rash and
scratches, one also experiences headache and feels
like flue. At the same time it is also observed
that various people do not experience any rash
or reddish circles but witness other symptoms
like stiffness of neck, muscle aches and sore
throat as well as fatigue, which are generally
symptoms of both malaria and flue.
Therefore, a person experiencing any such symptoms
should be alert and consult a professional doctor
for precautions instead of meeting a general physician.
Specifically if these symptoms appear right after
some bite of a tick or after visiting any place
which is commonly known for the spreading of the
Lyme disease.
On the other hand, the most interesting and mystical
aspect of the Lyme disease is the consequences
of the ignorance of the early symptoms of this
infectious disease. Though the initial symptoms
disappeared if ignored but in future this leads
to more complications and serious health problems.
However, there are many other symptoms of Lyme
disease for instance; a person loses controls
over any one side of his face. This symptom is
medically recognized as Bell’s palsy. Where
neurological symptoms are also included in this
category in which the patient experiences numbness,
meningitis and burning as well as tingling sensations
when the diseases internally grows to a serious
level.
Moreover, the common symptom for Lyme disease
is the arthritis and pain of the muscles and the
joints. At the same time, many people feel depressed
and experience extreme pain and fatigue that tends
to change their normal behavior to irritation.
Similarly some people are affected by various
other internal systemic functioning disorders
like heart problems or eye infections or any other
problem related to the eye as well as gastrointestinal
and respiratory problems.
Therefore, once the symptoms of the disease is
ignored at its initial stage, it might lead to
several other serious health problems at the same
time the disease it self grows internally in the
body and becomes chronic Lyme disease, which at
the later stage does not cure easily.
However, once the disease is diagnosed, doctors
usually treat it with the use of heavy antibiotics,
which also lead to various other side effects
to the internal system of the human body. At the
same time, one needs to realize the importance
of being very active at identifying the symptoms
to consult a professional doctor or expert to
immediately start the treatment.
It is observed that patients who are not ignorant
to the very symptoms of the Lyme disease recover
from the disease at a faster rate while at the
same time the immediate treatment also decreases
the risk of any other future symptoms in both
animals as well as human beings.
Therefore, both experts veterinarian as well
as professional doctors dealing with the disease
with reference to human beings, can help the patient
to recover as soon as the problem is bring to
them for treatment with out any delay. Delay leads
to further complications as well as health problems,
since upon delay not only the treatment to the
diseases becomes very difficult but also the time
period to intake various a medicine as well as
antibiotics is increased.
This develops further health problems due to
the side effects of the antibiotics. So this is
a serious health issue, which needs immediate
treatment to avoid future complications. |
