Kids Are Moody How Can They Be Taught To Eat Healthy
In spite of having knowledge on one's side, people are liable to
still make mistakes. This is because of the
fact that they may not always need the advice
people give them. Human beings are such; they
tend to take for granted what they are told
and overlook what is really important. the same
thing is true for the nutritional advice they
are given; in spite of people knowing about
positives and negatives of eating particular
foods, they still may go ahead and do so.
By doing this people fool themselves,
and they can only blame themselves, as they
are adults and have no one else but themselves
to hold responsible. However, when children
do the same thing they cannot really be held
responsible for themselves because their elders
are the ones that have to teach them right from
wrong; the adults around children have to constantly
remind them about what is harmful and what is
good for them. in view of this, children can
be trained to adapt to particular practices
and habits that will benefit them in the long
run.
In view of children being dependent
on their adults even though they may not want
to be, they are dependant on them for their
diets and the advice that has to come along
with it. Children may often deviate from what
they are told, depending on their moods. Children
can be moody and not want to consume a particular
food substance that they are supposed. For example,
they may not want to drink milk, which has essential
proteins in it. They need to be coaxed when
they do this because if they are not they will
lose in their growth process.
Milk is essential for the growth
as it enables enlargement of bones and growth
of teeth, hair, etc. Its functions are almost
numerous, and adults need to remind children
of this. First of all, children need to be told
about the importance, and then what they are
losing by being fussy. If this does not work,
then there could be other methods use to get
them interested in having milk or other foods
they do not want to consume.
Taking milk as an example, the
taste can be modified in order to suit the likes
of a child; it could be flavored with different
fruit flavors in order to get a child to drink
it. It is known that this strategy has been
successful, and can be applied to other foods
as well that children may be troublesome with.
Foods such as fish can put some children off;
they may not like the taste or smell of fish.
the option here is to spice it up with seasonings
or cook it in another way. The same thing may
apply to other solid food substances.
With the age of a child, his or
her tastes might change; adults need to monitor
their children in order to keep a track of what
they like and dislike and accordingly make adjustments.
if parents fail to do this, some children that
are fussy might go off eating considerably.
They might lose weight and hence lose out on
their vital growing periods. Hence it is very
important for a child's diet to be focused and,
and it is important to make sure a child does
not skip any meals or go off important food
substances.
The importance of vitamin and
mineral substances can also be highlighted here.
This is because some under nourished children
may need these. They help to boost the appetite
as well as enhance a child’s intake of
food content. These are all points that need
to be overviewed regularly, and parents and
other adults have to make sure that they fulfill
this duty for the proper growth and development
of a child.
