Can Kids Have High Cholesterol
Health issues are
of considerable concern in this modern day and
age. There is much awareness over health problems
in recent times, especially those that affect
all age groups.
An example of this is cholesterol
levels in adults and children. Certainly problems
such as these are ones that need to be controlled
as much as possible because of the fact that
they can prove fatal.
With the passage of time, there
is more and more truth revealed about cholesterol
and what it does to the body; in asserting this,
one can be assured that these revelations are
not fallacious and that there is a great deal
of truth about it all.
This is because when these new
findings are presented, they are all based on
the initial results into cholesterol. Insofar,
it has basically been uncovered that high cholesterol
levels are harmful for adults.
In addition to this, it has now
also been discovered that high cholesterol is
also harmful for children. Yes, this is true;
it is true that kids can have cholesterol too.
Most people are rather alarmed
when they hear that kids can also have high
cholesterol, and they sometimes doubt what research
presents one with. However, the truth is that
it is very possible for kids to have high cholesterol.
This is because of the fact that
kids also consume a lot of what adults do, and
since their bodies are not very different from
adults, digestively speaking, they tend to retain
the excess calories. This is harmful for them.
Undoubtedly they may burn many of these calories
in their daily activity, but when they do not,
it deposits inside blood vessels as cholesterol.
When cholesterol deposits on the
insides of blood vessels, it is considered a
highly dangerous condition for an individual
regardless of age. This is because it means
that a person’s blood flow to vital areas
is restricted.
Namely the heart, is the most common
victim of decreased blood flow due to inhibited
blood flow. Children can also have heart disease;
it is not a problem restricted to adults, as
many would think.
The only reason why children are
less likely to have heart disease is because
most of them are active; for those that are
not active, their blood vessels are more supple
than an adults. In sync with this understanding
is the fact that people past the age of 40 are
more likely to have heart attacks.
In addition to heart disease becoming
one of the major fears, it must be asserted
that there are health conditions such as obesity
that children may also get through poor diets.
Obesity is growing very common, and so, there
is need to control such conditions.
It is not a condition that is
related to adults, and it has also been discovered
that this condition in children can goon and
develop into adult conditions too. Hence, as
opposed to common perception, obesity is a condition
that can develop into an adult condition.
The main focus here is cholesterol
here, but the fact that obesity is a condition
caused by overeating or by inappropriate food
substances, makes cholesterol an important issue
with adults and children. Finally, then it must
be said that kids can have cholesterol, and
they may be affected by it in the same way as
adults are. |
