Pregnancy - Miscarriages - Mental and Physical Turmoil for Women

Pregnancy is a happy time of a woman’s life when she finally achieves her dream of having her own family. Sometimes due to bad luck or some medical problem, a pregnancy cannot be carried full term and miscarriage occurs in which the embryo or the baby dies. It may happen due to a number of reasons such as week or abnormal embryo, loss of blood or some other medical problem.

However, it may leave the mother with a sense of guilt or feeling of depression and leaves a scar on a woman’s mind. A miscarriage may be diagnosed immediately followed by bleeding or it may be a silent one indicated by pain or cramps after a few weeks.

Mental and Physical Turmoil on Women

Miscarriage can prove to be a mental and physical trauma for a woman as she not only loses her child but also feels guilty for not taking proper care and instead acting as an instigator of miscarriage. It may also have adverse physical effects as miscarriages often cause internal bleedings and other complications that may need surgery. In some cases, it may also result in further problems that hinder further pregnancies.

  • In her grief a woman may try to forget everything else, even herself which may prove harmful for her mental health
  • A woman may try to remain isolated from other people and shun human sympathy. This may result in deterioration of husband wife relationship as well as other contacts.

Physical Turmoil of Miscarriages
