We get stresses due to a number of reasons. They might include our inability to cope with circumstances of life and the troubles we face in life. In today’s fast paced life, with lots of work and problems looming ahead, everyone feels stressed.
However, to stay healthy and lead a normal life, we need to de-stress and relive ourselves.
The Need to De-Stress
According to researchers, due to the state of affairs of the world and various problems mankind is facing, people are more stressed than ever. Problems at home, job and society make people take a lot of stress that is very harmful for health.
Thus, the need to de-stress comes in. The different ways to de-stress depend upon the nature of stress as well as on the age of person suffering from it. Various therapies and methods can be employed that help in de-stressing and relaxing.
Some De-Stress Tips
Breathing Space
Take a long deep breath, hold it in your lungs and exhale after a few seconds. Repeat this exercise several times and focus only on the breathing routine. The inhaling of oxygen makes you feel fresh and clears your mind.
Think positive thoughts while breathing. It eases the stress out making you feel better.
Stretching Out
It is a good thing to stretch out for a minute or two even when you are at work. It helps to relax tensed muscles as well as provides a chance to unwind yourself and provides a distraction from work. The muscles of neck, arms and shoulders should be stretched after every hour or two for relaxation and de-stressing.
Take it Easy
Even when you have desk piled up with work, try to keep your cool. Panic or stress will not make it go away or do it. First sort out things, organize them and then start to finish them in order. Haste and rushing into things without thinking will only cause more problems and stress.
Ask for Help
If you feel that you are being swarmed with work, instead of falling down or making things seem worse, call in for help. Do not hesitate to ask others for help as everyone is vulnerable at some time. Asking for help is better than messing things up. The knowledge that some one is helping you is a great de-stress factor.
Plan things and Write them Down
Plan things and write them down if you are liable to forget. This way you will be able to keep a track of things and plan them ahead of time that will give you time enough to carry them out.
Although, it is not easy to eliminate stress or to completely get rid or if, yet it is possible to learn to de-stress. Learning to de-stress is very important in this day and time as too much stress can have adverse effects both on mental and physical health. |
