Thus, with no time to slow down, most of the people suffer from wind up syndrome which leaves them so stressed that they are unable to enjoy once they get to their holiday destination.
Wind Up Syndrome
In today’s hectic society, enjoying their time off or planning their holidays is leaving people stressed out and instead of relaxing and enjoying the build up to their holiday time; they suffer from wind up syndrome.
This syndrome leaves them too tired to do anything except rest when they reach their destination and they are unable to do anything except sleep. This syndrome is fast becoming travelers’ dilemma all over the world as people are getting busier in their work that leaves them without any time to relax and plan their leisure time.
Why Does It Happen?
Windup syndrome can result from the need to finish up the things in a hurry leading people to get stressed while doing all of it along with planning and packing for their holidays.
When people do not get enough time to prepare and tie the loose ends, they try to do as much as possible in the shortest available time and thus feel stressed out. It causes them anxiety to finish things on time, as well as feelings of apprehension and fear if they would be really able to do everything on time and make it to their holiday destination on time.
How to Avoid Wind-Up Syndrome
- Organize and plan your holidays before hand
- Try taking help from agencies that plan the holidays to minimize stress
- Arrange your work load in such a manner that all things are ready before the last day and you don’t need to go to the office or run any errand at the last moment
- All the important documents such as passports, visas and money should be properly organized as they give most stress in any emergency.
- Make sure that all the bills are paid and house is securely locked.
- Reaching the airport on time is a matter of great stress; as most of the people have to organize taxis or private transport, make sure that it will be available on time.
- It has been noticed that many people depart for their holidays from their work places. This is another factor that stresses them, as they are still plagued by things at work and cannot relax.
To conclude, it can be said that a large number of travelers suffer from this dilemma of wind up syndrome. Most people get stressed out by just planning their holidays. They do not get enough time to plan and in haste many things are left undone or forgotten, which again becomes a matter of great concern. The best thing to do in this regard is to organize oneself and make sure that everything is done before time to avoid any problems. |
