Salient Characteristics Of Valtrex-Oral, Or Valcyclovir-Oral
Valtrex is generally
prescribed for the effective treatment of various
types of herpes virus including herpes zoster
also known as shingles, genital herpes and herpes
simplex or generally known as cold sores.
Though it is for the consulting
physician to select the mode of medication,
Valtrex taken in its oral form has proven to
be the best mode of medication.
It is however suggested that once
the medication using Valtrex is commenced, it
should not be discontinued without the doctor's
advice, as stopping prior to the effective treatment
may render the entire therapy useless.
A brief on some of the side effects
of Valtrex taken in its oral form include nausea,
vomiting, headache, loss of appetite, weakness,
stomach pain or dizziness. Though most of these
side effects are the results of the body's adjustment
to the Valtrex medication, any continuation
of either of the said side effects must be brought
to the knowledge of the physician immediately.
Furthermore, if there are signs
that the medication is having adverse affects,
or the condition of the herpes viruses are getting
worse, this too should be brought to the knowledge
of the physician.
Prior to the intake or commencement
of Valtrex for the treatment of either category
of herpes virus, the patient must inform the
physician whether he or she is suffering from
a kidney ailment, blood disorder, or any allergies.
Most if not all the said conditions warrant
a caution, and may prove to worsen, instead
of treating the patient. |
